What is e-invoicing?
Structured invoices exchanged between systems and reported to the tax authority.
Updated
An e-invoice isn't a PDF. It's a structured data file β usually XML β that your system sends straight to your customer's system, where it can be processed without anyone retyping it.
Why it's becoming mandatory
Many countries now require businesses to issue invoices this way so the tax authority receives the invoice data at the same time. It reduces errors, speeds up payment and closes VAT gaps.
Peppol
Peppol is an international network for exchanging e-invoices. Each business connects through an Access Point β Flick is one. You send to anyone on Peppol, whatever provider they use, the way email works across providers.
In the UAE, e-invoicing uses a five-corner model: the seller's and buyer's access points exchange the invoice, and the invoice data is reported to the Federal Tax Authority.
What you need to do in Flick
Very little. Once your company is verified and registered on Peppol, Flick:
- Builds the e-invoice in the required format
- Validates it against the rules before sending
- Delivers it to your customer's access point
- Reports it to the tax authority where required
- Shows you the delivery and acceptance status
